Municipal Elections to Borough Council will occur on Tuesday, November 5th. Two additional residents, Paul Balint and Pamela Tadken, have expressed their desire to be considered as write-in candidates.
Three of the seven Council positions are up for vote/election. Only one incumbent, Lynn Shimer, ran in the May Primary and will appear on the ballot. Patti Dewar and Terry St.Clair did not run in the Primary. [The remaining 4 incumbents (Bob Hanson, Scott Hollern, Curt Morgese and Shaun Nemeth) have terms not expiring until the end of 2021].
Write-in votes can be cast for these 3 openings as well; The top 3 vote-getters will win the 3 open seats, subject to their agreement to serve.
One candidate, Kim Yantus, previously stepped forward and announced her write-in campaign. Information on all 3 write-in candidates appears below, in the order received:
I have been a full-time resident of Indian Lake for 38 years, being married and raising our 2 sons here in this lovely community. I would welcome the opportunity to serve on Council to help forward the work and dedication of the Council's initiatives. We all have the wonderful opportunity to live in this area and enjoy all that the Lake has to offer. I appreciated your consideration for my write-in campaign for the open positions that we have on Borough Council.
My name is Paul Balint and I would appreciate your consideration as a write-in candidate for one of the open positions in Indian Lake Borough Council..
I was fortunate enough to grow up at the Lake starting in 1967, working with my Parents to build our family lake house where my mother still resides, having moved here permanently in 1974 and building my own home in 1987. I have served multiple terms on the Indian Lake Service Corp. and currently serve on the Board of the Wenatchee Property Owners Association and would appreciate the opportunity to serve the Voters of Indian Lake tapping into my 43 years experience as an Engineer. Thank You,
My name is Pamela Tadken and I would like to be considered for a write in candidate to the Borough Council. My husband and I discovered Indian Lake 12 years ago and we are currently retired and enjoying the community and everything it has to offer as full time residents . Prior to our retirement, I served with the federal government for 25 years, following a 15 year career as a critical care nurse. These experiences showed the value in negotiations, listening and improving the lives of others. I would like to continue my dedication to service through my participation with the Borough Council.
We love the community that Indian Lake offers and the idyllic setting it provides. As a resident, I want to ensure Indian Lake continues to thrive. The infrastructure, recreational opportunities and health of the lake are my top priorities. I welcome ideas and comments on topics of interest to the residents and representing these ideas to the council. Serving on the council is an opportunity to give back to the community my husband and I have embraced as our home.
Thank you for your consideration.
Please consider writing in Pamela Tadken for Borough Council.
As mentioned previously, another candidate, incumbent Terry St.Clair, has also announced a willingness to continue to serve if elected as a write-in candidate.
This is a public service announcement only and no candidate is officially endorsed by the Borough.
