Public Notice

Musser Engineering, on behalf of LCT Energy, has issued a required notification of blasting for the surface mining on the East side of Rt. 160 across from Cherry Lane.  The notice is required by law for all municipalities and all public utilities located within one-half mile of the blasting area.  The published schedule is fairly open-ended (daylight hours Monday through Saturday) and covers one year (through 8/18/2020).  Very few homes (4 or 5 on Wenatchee Path or South Shore Trail near Entrance Drive, closest to Rt. 160) are within the half-mile zone, but others may hear the audible alarms or the blasting itself.  Golfers at Northwinds may notice as well.

This is a normal part of surface mining and nothing unusual.  Similar blasting has bee occurring at the Craighead Mine over the past year or so.

Details are in the letter, available at the link/button below.
