Anglers' Club Newsletter

Dear Anglers’ Club Member:

Well, here we are at mid-July and our summer is moving right along. The lake water is at a comfortable 79 degrees and everyone is enjoying our beautiful summer paradise. The Anglers’ Club has been very busy, with four club tournaments completed and our night tournament and Children’s Tournament set for July 31st and August 1. A flyer for the exciting Children’s Tournament is included with this newsletter.

Our first club tournament was held on Saturday, June 20th with 20 anglers participating. Mark Meekins won the tournament with a three bass limit of 6.01 pounds which included lunker largemouth at 2.38 pounds. Carlyle Meekins took second place with a three fish limit of 5.48 pounds. Adam Barnes took third place with a three bass limit of 4.99 pounds. Colin Pribish caught the lunker smallmouth that weighed 2.20 pounds. A total of 53 bass, 28 Largemouth and 25 smallmouth were weighed in at the first tournament.

Our second club tournament was held on Saturday, June 27th with 20 anglers participating. Carlyle Meekins won the tournament with a three bass limit of 7.19 pounds, which included the lunker largemouth at 3.50 pounds. Jon Ebbitt took second place with a three fish limit of 5.63 pounds while Eric Kirchner took third place with a three bass limit of 5.12 pounds. Jeremy Keener caught the lunker smallmouth that weighed 1.02 pounds. A total of 45 bass, 28 largemouth and 17 smallmouth were weighed in at the second tournament.

The third club tournament was held on Saturday, July 11th with 20 anglers participating. Carlyle Meekins won the tournament with a three bass limit of 6.80 pounds. Mark Meekins took second place with a three fish limit of 5.48 pounds. Andy Sentz took third place with a three bass limit of 5.02 pounds which included lunker largemouth that weighed 2.78 pounds. Collin Pribish caught the lunker smallmouth that weighed 2.05 pounds. A total of 49 bass, 36 largemouth and 13 smallmouth were weighed in.

The fourth club tournament was held on Saturday, July 18th with 20 anglers participating. Trevor Young won the tournament with a three bass limit of 6.23 pounds. Mark Meekins took second place with a three fish limit of 5.22 pounds. Greg Fenton took third place with a three bass limit of 4.97 pounds which included lunker smallmouth at 1.13 pounds. Mike Pribish Sr. caught the lunker largemouth that weighed 2.23 pounds. A total of 41 bass, 24 Largemouth and 17 smallmouth were weighed in at the fourth tournament.

Our annual night tournament will be held Friday, July 31st from 5-10 PM. Registration is at the marina prior to the 5 PM take-off. Then Saturday, August 1st, we will host our annual Al Diehl Memorial Children’s Tournament, which is open to all kids at the lake. Fishing can begin at 8 AM anywhere on the lake and fish counting begins at 11:30 AM sharp at the marina, with the prize ceremony to follow, social distancing rules apply. There are 3 divisions, 5-years old and under, 6-years to 10-years old, and 11-years to 15-years old.

A special thanks to our members, your continued support of the Anglers’ Club enables us to host the Children's Tournament and proceed with our fall stocking program.
