Lake Closed Wednesday, June 23rd and 24th
On Tuesday, June 23rd, Aquatic Environmental Consultants (Bill Kirkpatrick) will be at the Lake for the first Weed Treatment. The treatment will require the Lake to remain closed (still) for another 24 hours to be effective. While inconvenient, spending $50,000 on treatment and having it rendered ineffective by boat traffic is wasteful; the inconvenience seems warranted.
Indian Lake police will patrol the Lake. If you spot any violators please call Chief Jerry Bellak or Sargent Ray Wilhelm at 814-754-3231. Your call will be automatically forwarded to whoever is on duty on a non-emergency basis.
2nd Annual Day of Caring Cleanup Event at Indian Lake!
SATURDAY, JUNE 27, 2020 AT 8 AM – 6 PM
Resident, Lindsay Forney, is a Subaru Ambassador and is organizing a “Day of Caring” to help clean up around the Borough!
What are we doing?
- Spending a few minutes, or a few hours, looking around us and picking up trash or clearing obstructions, anything that takes away from the beauty of the lake. My suggestions would be to take a walk with some friends or family and look for trash on your walk. Or jump in a kayak or canoe and paddle around and grab trash in the water or on the banks.
More information will be added as soon as I have locations locked down but I will have a designated place or two where you can pickup trash bags and gloves.
I'm simply going to ask that you take some photos while you are cleaning and post them here! That way we can all celebrate together what good we are doing for our community.
Please also observe all current CDC guidelines when participating, practice social distancing, wear a mask if you can't distance, and make sure you have gloves and sanitizer if needed!
Please also invite others - Stonycreek Twp. and Lake folks can surely participate as well! Know people not on facebook? That's ok...share this info offline with them please!!
