A couple of important items:

The Water, Septic Tank Maintenance, and Service Corporation bills will be in the hands of the residents in the next two weeks.  The Borough Office encourages residents to take advantage of our e-Pay system, you can pay all of your bills as well as register your boats all at one time.

If you do wish to send paper checks for the bills, please send a separate check for each bill (Boats, Water, Septic Tank Maintenance and Service Corporation). The revenues all go into separate bank accounts; separate checks makes the recording and depositing process much more streamlined and with less room for error.  If you do send one check for all three bills, it will likely be returned to you to either pay separately or to use the e-Pay system.  With e-Pay, the payment flow to the correct accounts is automated and a single payment transaction is fine.

Thanks,  Kirsten

Planning Commission
Planning has selected Pam Tadken as their new Chair.  Chris Keiser is Secretary and Don Reed is returning as a Commissioner.  According to recent changes, PA law now allows for up to 3 appointed Planning Alternates.  Fred Jones, Scott Hollern and Dick Stern will be those alternates, leaving two openings for Planning Commissioner.  Fred is a former Zoning Officer and Scott and Dick (and Don Reed) are former Chairs.

If you are interested in becoming a Planning Commissioner, please contact Pam Tadken ( who will assist Council in filling the two vacancies.  With the competent Alternates and advisors at your back it will be a great learning opportunity.

What do Garages, Noise, Drones and Boating have in common?

They were all hot topics at a recent Council meeting with more than 30 ZOOM attendees.  A lot of good feedback ensued.

The Police request to purchase a drone was withdrawn.  It may resurface at some point in the future with a stronger, more compelling case for action. Privacy issues dominated the pre-meeting discussion and decision to withdraw.

Planning (Pam Tadken) is coordinating the input on the to-be-finalized Zoning Ordinance changes regarding building, primarily garages, on undeveloped (no primary residence) lots.  Council committed to complete this by July.

The lightning rod on the Nuisance/Noise Ordinance DRAFT prepared by Mike Miscoe was the "Party Permit" requirement for loud music by large groups.  Pam Tadken and Joe Lazarro are taking point with that one.  Folks seem to agree we need to do something, but without consensus on what...

Input on Boating continues to be mixed on Wake-boats/Wave Height and on speed limits, especially during 'peak' times.  Scott Hollern and Dick Stern agreed to wrestle that one.

All seem to be on track for unveiling this summer.
