Subject: Floating Debris for Labor Day Weekend
Indian Lake Boaters,
The flooding caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ida has decreased the water quality of our lake. While I believe the water level will be at or near normal by Friday night, hazards will still exist. There may be a significant amount of floating debris in the water, and some of it could be large enough to damage boat propellers and possibly injure skiers. It will not surprise me if there is wood from old docks among the debris, including hardware like nails and screws. That type of debris can easily injure someone, especially on a towed inflatable. Therefore, I urge everyone to PLEASE BE VIGILANT when boating! Let’s all enjoy a SAFE holiday weekend.
