Possible targets against the Nipah virus
In a PLOS Neglected and Tropical Diseases paper, Dr. M.S. Madhusudhan's group has described potential inhibitors against the proteins of the Nipah virus through a computational modeling approach. Read more in these news reports from Reuters and Research Matters.

PRIME MINISTER'S VISIT TO IISER PUNE

Prime Minister's visit

Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi visited IISER Pune and interacted with faculty members and students. He discussed about and gave inputs on some of the research areas being pursued at the institute. He visited the NMR facility and the newly set-up supercomputing facility PARAM Brahma. More

PARTNERSHIPS

Praj and IISER Pune to scale up Mimamsa

Praj Industries and IISER Pune have signed a MoU with the objective to scale up Mimamsa, the annual nation-wide inter-college science quiz led by IISER Pune students. More

Agreement with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST)
Visiting Students Research Program with KAUST, Saudi Arabia: Initiated with the aim of broadening the scope of the academic study of each institution, as part of this agreement, BS-MS students from IISER Pune will have research internship opportunities at KAUST.

Workshops on Molecular Biology for Beginners with Eppendorf and HiMedia
This series of workshops are 1-day long hands-on events which aim to introduce basic molecular biology practicals to school students (Class IX-XII) and people with no prior exposure to the subject. More

MILESTONES AND AWARDS

Sanction order for an Atal Incubation Centre at IISER Pune has now been received from the Atal Incubation Mission (AIM) team of the NITI Aayog. This will enable students, staff and faculty members of IISER Pune to develop their innovative ideas into start-up companies.

Dec 10-13, 2019
Bringing together postdoctoral fellows from India in the field of life sciences, this event provides a platform for networking and for career development. The 3rd edition of this symposium was held at IISER Pune. More
Workshop: Challenges to TB
Dec 16-19, 2019
This 4-day workshop brought together experts from across the UK and India working on tuberculosis. The focus was on drug resistance in India and inter-disciplinary solutions. More
Winter School on Geometric Algorithms and their Applications
Dec 16-24, 2019
This school introduced participants to the essentials of computational geometry along with an in-depth study of the fundamental geometric structures and techniques used in this field. More
Chemistry Camp with Salters' Institute and RSC India
Dec 25-27, 2019
A 3-day residential Chemistry Camp for 9th standard students was conducted at IISER Pune in association with the Royal Society of Chemistry, India and Salters’ Institute, UK. More
