Primary Care Leadership Development Offer

Don't forget, if you are a GP about to take on a partnership or a PCN Clinical Director - or indeed any GP or Practice Manager - ABC has a bespoke leadership development process for you.
There are two distinct aspects to our approach, both of which have proved highly successful, and we now have more staff than ever before trained and ready to help. We've even got some reduced rates available so get in touch if you think you or your team could benefit.

The two approaches we offer: 1. Tailored to your specific needs

Our programmes start with a personal leadership assessment that provides you with a picture of your development opportunities. This means you can plan your development programme using elements from our offering or from external mentoring or specialist courses that fit your precise development goals. Your time and effort in personal non-clinical development is therefore totally focused on what is relevant to you rather than wasted through trial and error on off-the-shelf, generic programmes.

2. Tailored to your locality

We believe that the best learning is achieved through what we do, rather than what courses we attend. Our programmes are therefore built on the principles of action learning. We therefore align them to the practical reality of our locality and key challenges we face as leaders in the context of the current priorities and the longer term NHS change agenda. So with our programmes you don't just get the theory, you have the opportunity to work with local colleagues deciding how to apply that learning to achieve excellence for our community.

In the past week we've run strategy sessions for two of our PCNs, during which we've discussed shared purpose and their vision, whilst also thinking about business and recruitment plans for 2020 and beyond.  We're happy to run these sessions for any of our members so please get in touch to book yours in.
Mid-Sussex Learning Sets Update

We're pleased to confirm that we now have town-based Learning Sets running in Horsham and Mid-Sussex. On Wednesday (tomorrow) there is a session on Osteoporosis with the Haywards Heath group but as this is being held virtually, others are welcome to join. Details are:

A little thank you to all our Practice Managers

In recognition of the incredible work our Practice Managers have been doing during this very challenging time, ABC has organised an afternoon for our PMs to re-charge their batteries and meet with peers.  Ridgeview Vineyard has been booked for wine-tasting and nibbles from 1pm-5pm on the dates below.  There will also be a mindfulness session from a qualified coach, so bring a yoga mat if you have one!
We have allocated the dates by region but please let us know if you need to swap to an alternative date on the list below:
1st or 3rd September - Mid-Sussex
2nd September - Crawley
8th September - Horsham
Details for the East Surrey event will be shared next week.
If you would like to attend, please email Nikki Phillips with your preferred date as well as any dietary or access requirements as soon as possible.  Please note that this event is for Practice and or Business Managers but unfortunately does not include Assistants or Deputies.
Practices currently using TeamNet in West Sussex will have a further one-year extension with ABC (East Surrey access is now provided through the CCG.) For those who have chosen not to use TeamNet, you will receive a message on the portal stating that access will end on 24th August, although you will still have access to any publicly available information. If you have received a notification but still want access then please get in touch ASAP.  There will be ongoing webinars and training on how to use the system with information available on the TeamNet portal.
