We are counting on you to help us reach our year-end goal
Dear Friends of Arts at the Armory,
It is with hope and optimism that we wish our cherished community a happy and healthy 2022. It is with sincere gratitude that we thank everyone who has already made a year-end gift to the Center for Arts at the Armory.
At the writing of this letter, we are 70% to our year-end campaign goal of $20,000. Our ability to successfully operate throughout the year ahead is contingent upon meeting this fundraising goal.
Throughout the pandemic, the challenges faced in our city, state, country and the world have been unprecedented. At the Center for Arts at the Armory we too have been deeply challenged and yet, with support like yours, we have persevered. At every turn, we have made great efforts to keep our spaces accessible and safe for you. Now we are asking you to be there for us once again.
Over the past year, we've made improvements to our Café and to our room in the basement, "B5," now available for rentals to the public, and for use as a green room and meeting space. Earlier this summer, we were grateful to receive a grant from the Cabot Family Charitable Trust to do capital enhancement planning in the Armory Performance Hall. We have completed the soundproofing project, a major cleanout of our backstage area, and a professional study to understand the load bearing capacity of the Performance Hall ceiling. We are also working closely with a consultant to map out a plan that will lay the groundwork for transforming the Armory Performance Hall in ways that will stabilize and strengthen our non-profit organization, and better serve artists, users of the hall, and community audiences for decades to come. During this process, we have been conducting interviews with community members, and current and potential users of the Armory Performance Hall in order to inform planning.
Looking ahead, I am optimistic and excited about Arts at the Armory’s future, which is only going to be made possible through our community's support. We are asking you to make a year-end donation to sustain Arts at the Armory and help realize the full potential of our rebirth. Thank you in advance for giving as generously as you can. Your contribution is essential to renewing the magical space for arts, culture and community that we all know and love.
p.s. Even if you don't itemize, you can claim up to $300 in charitable deductions if you file as single, and up to $600 if you file jointly. But only if your gift is received by midnight on December 31st.
