Dear Friends of Arts at the Armory,

As we head into the holiday season and speed toward the end of the year, we are thinking about you and the community we serve, and how our current moment has great importance as a time of rebirth and renewal. With our gradual return to in-person events in our Performance Hall and Café beginning in May, we have used this time to reflect, and look inward and outward to understand how we can better serve our community, and create a sustainable organization in the process. We are rebuilding our team, rebooting our business plan, and improving our spaces. It’s a work in progress but there is a spirit and energy of possibility afoot that is driving our momentum. To realize the full potential of our rebirth, we are asking for your support of our year-end campaign with a goal to raise $20,000 by December 31st. Thank you in advance for giving as generously as you can. Your contribution is essential to renewing the magical space for arts, culture and community that we all know and love.

With my sincere gratitude and warm wishes of the season,

Stephanie Scherpf
Executive Director

Join Us for Jean Appolon Expressions' BANBOCHE Celebration on December 11th
The Center for Arts at the Armory is thrilled to host Jean Appolon Expressions' fifth annual Banboche celebration on Saturday, December 11th starting at 6:30pm. Join Jean, the dance company, and the JAE community to celebrate a year full of rich community programming as you immerse yourself in Haitian culture. The evening will include dance performances, highlights from JAE's year, unique handcrafted goods, drinks, and dancing for all.

This year's theme is Kiltirèl Conexiones and the company performance will bring together Jean Appolon’s Haitian folkloric roots with Gerardina Halloran’s Dominican heritage. Kiltirèl Conexiones, meaning "Cultural Connections" in a combination of Haitian Kreyol and Spanish,, is JAE's latest effort to highlight and celebrate the similarities between Haitian and Dominican people, cultures, and historic experiences.

Admission ranges from $20 for general admission to $175 for a cabaret table seating four.
