Meet EnviroStars Business: Tacoma Aroma Flavor
Meet Kris Hay, owner of EnviroStars recognized business Tacoma Aroma Flavor. Kris likes to describe herself as a compiler of cookbooks and guidebooks on the Tacoma food scene. Kris is a firm believer in a farm-to-table approach as an important way for people to eat.
At the Tacoma Aroma Flavor headquarters, most of the meals are made from scratch using fresh, local, seasonal ingredients that have been produced ethically and sustainably. Tacoma Aroma Flavor uses the acronym FLOSS (Fresh Local Organic Seasonal Sustainable) to remember the intentional choices that it makes to support fresh, local, seasonal food systems. Tacoma Aroma Flavor is all about maintaining the same standards of eating whether cooking in or dining out. They highlight small local restaurants and bars whose chefs and bartenders share their ideals.
Tacoma Aroma Flavor is a great example of a business that takes a unique approach to celebrate the local food culture and invest in the sustainable local businesses in Tacoma and neighboring South Sound communities.

Make the Most of Your EnviroStars Recognition by using the EnviroStars logo
Customers enjoy learning more about the local businesses they support, which in turn strengthens those connections. How can you share your sustainability story and solidify relationships with your customers?
It may be helpful to think about where customers spend time lingering at your business to determine what posters, postcards, brochures, or other materials can you offer to communicate your EnviroStars status and conservation efforts? For instance, a hair salon may display a mirror cling, an auto garage may add an EnviroStars logo and blurb on each service receipt, and a dental office may print a poster to place on the ceiling above exam chairs.
Read on for more ways to show off the EnviroStars logo and share your sustainability story with customers.
Display Your Window Cling and Certificate
Display your EnviroStars Window Cling near eye-level on a door or window at the entrance to your business.
Frame and hang your EnviroStars certificate in a prominent location where customers are likely to linger. For instance, you could hang it behind the cash register, in the waiting room, or near a refillable water bottle station.
