H2H Fund activation: Tigray, Ethiopia support package II.

Following the first H2H Fund Tigray activation and six months now into the conflict, assessments clearly show that the humanitarian situation remains serious.
With this second support package, H2H services, products and tools will further support the humanitarian system in Ethiopia and in border areas of Sudan. The H2H Network service package will be operational as of early June and project activities will be completed by 31 August. Official funding announcement will follow.

H2H Network is looking for new Executive Director

The H2H Network seeks an entrepreneurial leader to become its new Executive Director and help the network achieve its full potential.

In its pilot phase, H2H has proven its value. We now seek a CEO who can take the concept to scale and help the network achieve its full potential at this nascent period in its evolution.

The CEO will oversee the Secretariat, build the visibility of the network, attract diverse funding and grow the network’s ability to provide value to its various stakeholders: members, donors, and the humanitarian response system more broadly.

HNPW 2021: Accountability to Affected Populations - recorded sessions

This year, the number of participants at the virtual HNPW broke all-time records. The H2H Network and  IASC Results Group 2 led the series of events on Accountability for Affected Populations and many H2H Network member organizations led or participated in panel discussions. Recorded sessions are now available.

High-level panel: delivering on AAP Commitments

Drawing from the findings of ODI operational research and the outcome of earlier sessions at #HNPW, the objective of this high-level panel, hosted by IASC Results Group 2, was to identify key building blocks and changes necessary to ensure more systematic and predictable collective approaches to community engagement and accountability:

Feedback data is useless! (Until someone acts upon it)

Last year at HNPW we heard data, data, data. There was an example of a feedback mechanism around every corner. But then what? What's the point of a fancy dashboard if nobody is using it? For this year’s HNPW, Ground Truth Solutions and the IFRC organized a panel to hear from people systematically adapting to community feedback data; how they’re doing it, and what it means for their work:

Peer Pressure: How deepening digital access is transforming communication as aid

The widening access to digital communication channels means humanitarians are no longer gatekeepers of information - while still being the gatekeepers of aid. What does communication as aid look like when the affected population is not a communications monolith? Is this a communications catastrophe waiting to happen? Or localization in action? H2H in action: HQAI member profile

“Currently 35% of our audited partners are national organizations, and we're really working on continuously increasing their share. We believe that we have added value for all types of organizations, but particularly added value for national ones.” Désirée Walter, Deputy Director and Head of Communication and Marketing, HQAI
We spoke to HQAI’s Désirée Walter, Deputy Director and Head of Communications, about HQAI's role in harmonizing due diligence requirements across the humanitarian sector, challenges and opportunities around the Covid-19 pandemic, their role in driving accountability and localization and why they joined the H2H Network.
