39th Ward
Participatory Budgeting

Cycle 2
Dear Neighbor,

We are now in the second and final week of voting for the 39th Ward’s Participatory Budgeting, Cycle 2!

The Participatory Budgeting (PB) Voting period closes February 12 at 11:59 p.m. Residents must register to vote at After registering, a unique access code to the ballot will be sent via email. Please allow one business day for your registration to be processed. Registration closes February 12 at 5 p.m.

This year's ballot has 22 project proposals. Continue reading below to view the project proposals, or visit

All project proposals were created by community representatives who volunteered their time to thoughtfully review the project ideas you submitted.

PB is a democratic process in which community members directly decide how to spend part of the public budget. The process is lead in part by community representatives, who solicit ideas from neighbors, research needed improvements and finalize the ballot.

For the second year, 39th Ward residents 14 years and older will have the opportunity to make their voices heard in how they would like to see $500,000 of the 39th Ward's public budget allocated for infrastructure improvements.

If you have any additional questions on the PB process, please reach out to my office. The 39th Ward Public Service Office remains virtually open Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Out of an abundance of caution, we are not open to the public. Please reach out should you have any questions, comments, or concerns at 773.736.5594 or via email at Ward39@CityOfChicago.Org.

All the best,

Alderman Samantha Nugent
