BadgerLink Resource Guide for Public Libraries

link to BadgerLink Resource Guide for Public LibrariesBadgerLink recently created its Public Library Resource Guide. Its main purpose is to provide a listing of BadgerLink’s “best bets” - those resources that are best suited for public library users.

The guide is a PDF and can be added to a public library website for patron use, or simply used by public librarians to narrow down the many resources available through BadgerLink, whether that be at the reference desk or on the library’s website.

Please email Jen Champoux, BadgerLink Technical Support & Training, with feedback, questions, or requests for more/similar documents.

The Public Library Association's (PLA) is a digital literacy training site that offers self-paced courses to help patrons learn computer basics, cyber security, video conferencing, and more (supported by AT&T).

Every day, community members access their local public libraries hoping to complete life tasks but lack the basic computer knowledge and skills to do so. PLA has partnered with AT&T to expand their work in helping libraries and their communities close the digital divide. has a variety of courses that build digital literacy skills and confidence using technology. The online courses are freely available to everyone and teach basic skills such as tips for getting started with email, navigating websites and commonly used apps, operating search engines, mastering cybersecurity, and more.

With support from AT&T, PLA has been able to add and update courses, improve training materials, and include Spanish translations. Visit to view the new and improved courses (marked NEW!) and share the site with your community members looking to increase their digital literacy skills.
