Fill Up Your Fuel Tank With Compassion Resilience

Tuesday, December 8, 2020 1-2pm
This webinar will be recorded

Feeling stressed, fatigued, or burned out? Do you want to start the new year with more resilience? This webinar is for you!  Working for the public requires empathy and a desire to serve, and the past year has everyone running low. A focus on compassion resilience can guide you and your staff back to the core set of values and the drive for a sense of purpose that drew them to work in libraries in the first place.

Using the Compassion Resilience Toolkit will help you to manage expectations, set professional and personal boundaries, build effective collegial relationships, and practice real-time and ongoing self-care.

This webinar will provide an overview of the toolkit and direct application of 3-5 techniques. Wisconsin public library and system staff are invited to a FREE one hour webinar on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 1:00-2:00pm.

The webinar will be recorded and is brought to you by the Department of Public Instruction using LSTA funding from IMLS. Blog post

Free Unique and Fun Tools to Help Keep You Sane

WVLS posted a recorded webinar: "Free Unique and Fun Tools to Help Keep You Sane," presented by Laura Solomon, the Web Services Manager for the Ohio Public Library Information Network.

Description: Let’s be honest: sometimes, we all just need distractions, especially during a global pandemic. Chances are, your library patrons need the same. You will be amazed by just some of the endless variety of tools on the internet that are out there, that can be fun, awe-inspiring or both. We’ll spend some time delving into nooks and crannies of the internet that you probably didn’t know existed! Use these tools to share with library patrons or to use in library programming.

This webinar can be viewed at any time, and completing it is worth 1 contact hour for library certification.
