Shawano County Library holds countywide community read
Shawano County Library held a countywide community read of Stamped from the Beginning by Ibram X. Kendi during the month of February. This is a National Book Award winner that focuses on how racist ideas were created, spread, and rooted in American history.
Patrons were encouraged to read one (or all!) of the titles and to participate in several anti-racist awareness activities independently available through a Beanstack challenge.
The month ended with a panel discussion about anti-racism led by local experts Shannon Holsey, President of the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohican Indians, and Angel Saavedra Cisneros, Ph. D., Assistant Professor of Political Science at St. Norbert College.
