PBS KIDS Early Childhood Edcamp Fox Valley: 2/15/2020


Attention: Youth Services library staff:
PBS Wisconsin Education and Community Early Learning Center Fox Valley have partnered to bring a free professional learning experience to librarians and others who care for young children. A PBS KIDS Edcamp is a local gathering of educators connecting through shared experiences and peer-led conversations with a PBS twist.

Date: Saturday, February 15, 2020
Time: 8am - 12:30pm
Location: Community Early Learning Center Fox Valley, Appleton

Scholarship Opportunities for WAAL 2020
Apply by 3/15/2020


The Wisconsin Association of Academic Librarians (WAAL) is accepting applications for scholarships to the WAAL 2020 Annual Conference at the Sheraton Milwaukee Brookfield Hotel in Brookfield, Wisconsin, April 16-17.

Scholarships cover the registration fee for the conference and up to $250 of documented expenses.

2020 Census Online Survey Sneak Peek


The US Census Bureau released a sneak peek of the 2020 Census online form during the National Advisory Committee Fall Meeting. This walks you through the whole form so you can make sure your library is ready for Census 2020.

Please share these screenshots with library staff who might be in a position to help patrons with their Census survey so they can provide the best possible service to folks who need a hand.

9:00 am-4:00 pm each date, choose the one that fits your schedule:
  • Tuesday, May 5: New Berlin Public Library
  • Wednesday, May 6: Portage County Public Library, Stevens Point
  • Thursday, May 7: The Lodge at Mauston
  • Friday, May 8: Rice Lake Public Library
This workshop will lead participants through perspectives on creating and implementing mission-driven library services. Participants will have an immediate opportunity to put their learning into practice at this hands-on workshop.

Libraries that received grant funds in 2019 must first complete the 2019 Youth Service Support Grant Evaluation in order to be eligible for funds in 2020.
