The Future of the DPI Youth Services Consultant Position

As many of you know, Tessa Michaelson Schmidt will be leaving her DPI Division of Library and Technology Consultant position at the end of June. Tessa, who has been in this position for nearly 10 years, will now be the Assistant State Superintendent for the Division for Libraries and Technology beginning July 6. This is the first time in over 20 years that a librarian has been in this role.

IMLS American Rescue Plan Grant: Applications Due June 28th


Application: The Notice of Funding Opportunity for FY2021 is available.
Deadline: June 28, 2021

Grant Amount: $10,000-$50,000
Grant Period: One year.

Program Overview:
The IMLS American Rescue Plan grants program supports museum and library services in addressing community needs created or exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and in assisting with recovery. Projects may continue, enhance, or expand existing programs and services, or they may launch new ones to address emergent needs and unexpected hardships.

While some aspects of the conference may be different due to safety and health protocols, providing high-quality programming remains PLA's top priority. They are seeking proposals for educational sessions that reflect the innovation, creativity, adaptability, and diversity we’ve seen emerge from the public library field in the past year.

Submit your proposal by this Monday, June 21, 2021 at 11:59 PM Eastern.
