Welcome, Karin!


Karin AdamsKarin Adams is the new director of Marinette County Consolidated Public Library Services.

Karin comes to Marinette County from Green Bay, working as a Youth Services Librarian for Brown County Library since 2014.

Besides reading (mostly thrillers, mysteries and young adult novels), Karin is an active runner, avid tennis player and all-things-Disney fan. 

Karin is delighted to step into this new role in Marinette County and looks forward to being a part of the greater Consortium community.

Ayad Akhtar’s Homeland Elegies Receives the WLA’s Literary Prize for 2021


Borrow "Homeland Elegies: A Novel" by Ayad Akhtar at InfoSoupThe Wisconsin Library Association (WLA) announced that Ayad Akhtar’s Homeland Elegies is the WLA Literary Award winner for 2021.  This award is given for the highest literary achievement by an author with a Wisconsin connection, for a work written in 2020.

In addition to the literary prize, the Literary Awards Committee also recognized several authors and poets with the Outstanding Achievement Award and compiled a list of Wisconsin interest books.

Read for a Better World, Winter 2022, Lerner

Beanstack Announces Winter Read 2022


This year’s challenge theme is Read for a Better World, encouraging readers of all ages to explore diversity, empathy, and action through literature. In addition to providing free access to all of the eBooks needed for the challenge,  the publisher will award book collections, signed books, and virtual author visits to winning libraries and schools. You can read more about the partnership here.

Does your library need more space? Does the building need to be updated?

John Thompson has served as the IFLS Library System Director since January 2007 and has consulted on over 30 building projects in the IFLS area. John has provided consulting, training, and workshops for library boards and staff on a variety of library administration topics including building projects! His building project consulting has included evaluating current library configurations, developing space needs assessments, assisting with architect selection, developing building program statements, providing ideas for capital campaigns, and helping answer questions throughout the construction phase.
