If you are interested in taking part in a future cohort, let us WiLS know by emailing Melissa McLimans. They plan on offering the cohort in the Fall of 2021 with room for up to 10 libraries.
Apply for Compassion Resilience Facilitator Training
Four sessions in Jan & Feb
Small teams from Wisconsin public libraries and systems are invited to apply for the Compassion Resilience Facilitator Training.
The staff at Appleton Public Library started using the toolkit in 2019. Assistant Director Tasha Saecker reports, “The toolkit will change how you approach public library service by giving you a common language to better care for yourself, your coworkers, and your community.”
This training is conducted by Rogers InHealth and brought to you by the Department of Public Instruction using LSTA funding from IMLS.
Through the American Dream Literacy Initiative, the American Library Association (ALA) and Dollar General Literacy Foundation offer annual grants to U.S. public libraries to expand services for adult English language learners or adults in need of basic education and workforce development.
Public libraries are eligible if they serve adult English language learners and are located within 20 miles of a Dollar General Store, distribution center or corporate office. Visit the Dollar General Store Locator.
Promote Digital Resources Using OverDrive's Resource Center
Just a friendly reminder that OverDrive's Resource Center has lots of ways to promote digital services to patrons - AND offers staff training in the form of webcasts and on-demand staff training recordings.
Right now, we need ways to connect, and nothing does that like music – even on-line!
Dan Robinson has performed music for communities of all kinds for over 25 years. He would love to share music that inspires and brings people together with your library community.
