Best of Luck to Megan!

As you may already know, Megan Theys will soon be leaving the NFLS crew. We are, of course, sorry to be losing her. Her work ethic and attention to detail is only surpassed by her wonderful demeanor! To be certain, the office won’t be the same without her. Yet we are excited to see her off on her next adventure. Megan worked hard to graduate with her MLIS from UW Milwaukee this spring and it has paid off! She accepted a job as the school librarian for the school district of Cudahy in southern Wisconsin.

Megan’s last day with NFLS will be Wednesday, August 14. We thank her for all she has done for NFLS and wish her well in her new position.

Perspectives on Reading - Call for Submissions

Over a year ago, OverDrive launched Perspectives on Reading, a quarterly online magazine that focuses on trends in the reading world.

Many of the articles and essays that appear in Perspectives on Reading came from librarians and booklovers. It’s time to plan the fifth edition of Perspectives on Reading and OverDrive would like to hear from you. Has your library had a unique program you want to share? Do you have reading success stories from your library? Is there some element about your book-related job you think more people should know about?

OverDrive is accepting story ideas over the next few weeks, so if there’s something you think the reading world needs to know about, send your story submission to https://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/4290015/Perspectives-on-Reading-Story-Idea-Submission.

WiLSWorld Shorts: Digital Preservation Advocacy

On Friday, September 6 at 1:00pm, join Recollection Wisconsin team members Emily Pfotenhauer and Vicki Tobias for a free, one-hour webinar on the topic of Digital Preservation Advocacy.

This webinar will help prepare you for conversations about digital preservation with your organization's key stakeholders such as administrators, IT personnel, and content creators. Gain confidence to navigate digital preservation discussions and advocate for your organization’s long-term digital asset management and preservation work.

Register to attend the Sept. 6 webinar. This event will be recorded and shared.

Digital Readiness Survey from Recollection Wisconsin

Help Recollection Wisconsin assess and plan for digital readiness in Wisconsin, and develop a plan for a Digital Readiness Community of Practice that will increase your capacity to create, manage and share digitized historical resources.

Please take their Digital Readiness Survey, which survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Coordinate with others at your library to ensure only one response is submitted on behalf of your group. The survey will be open through August 31, 2019. > > LEARN MORE
