Nominate someone exceptional for the WI Library Hall of Fame!

WLAF: Wisconsin Library Association FoundationThe Wisconsin Library Heritage Center Steering Committee is accepting nominations for individuals to be inducted into the Wisconsin Library Hall of Fame in 2021. Nominations must be submitted by Friday, September 10th, 2021. Procedures and nomination form may be found at

Nominations should be submitted to Annie Bahringer (Chair of the WLHC Steering Committee) as email attachments at by Friday, September 10th, 2021.

September is Library Card Sign-up Month - Celebrate with Marley DiasSeptember is Library Card Sign-up Month

As Honorary Chair of Library Card Sign-up Month 2021, Marley Dias, founder of #1000BlackGirlBooks, wants to remind the public that signing up for a library card provides access to technology, multimedia content, and educational programming that transforms lives and strengthens communities.

Visit the Library Card Sign-up Month Toolkit on the ALA website or the Libraries Transform website to download free digital artwork, mini-posters, and media tools such as a sample press release and proclamation.

Fostering an Antiracist Library Culture: 35% Discount


Library Journal is again offering its Equity in Action: Fostering an Antiracist Library Culture online course this fall.

Use the NEWI sign-up form to get a 35% discount on the course fee, bringing your per-person cost down to $159.25.

Read full details of the course. Key features:

  • Interactive online course of live sessions that are bridged with online workshops, video lessons, assignments, discussions, and resources.
  • Live sessions are 1-3 pm on Tuesdays September 28, October 5, and October 12; they will be recorded and available afterward.
  • Access to all course content for six months after the course ends.
  • The course is eligible to count as 15 contact hours of continuing education, upon earning a certificate of completion.

NEWI will register you for the course, and in mid-October, will invoice your library for the $159.25 discounted fee.

The deadline to join the NEWI group purchase is 5 pm on September 8.
