Libraries Transform Communities Engagement Grants


ALA invites library workers to apply for the Libraries Transform Communities Engagement Grant, an annual award supporting innovative and meaningful community engagement efforts in libraries.

Applications will be accepted until February 1, 2022. View the full award guidelines and apply online at

The Libraries Transform Communities Engagement Grant will provide two grants of $2,000 for a school, public, academic, tribal, or special library to expand its community engagement efforts.

Memory Lab Network, DC public library

Memory Lab Network final call for applicants


The Institute of Museum and Library Services has extended DC Public Library's Memory Lab Network to fund a grand total of 16 library partners and the application for the third and final cohort is open.

Partners will be selected by the project Advisory Board to receive funding for equipment, training, and one-on-one mentoring to build a Memory Lab in their community. More information on the application and process can be found here.

Applications are due by February 4 and awardees will be notified by March 7.

Juvenile Justice Positive Youth Development: Mentoring Programs

This funding opportunity supports counties, tribes, any unit of local government, and/or nonprofit organizations in implementing new or enhancing existing positive youth development and mentoring initiatives for youth involved or at-risk of involvement in the juvenile justice system. Applications are due February 18th; read more about the program and how to apply in the grant announcement.

There's still time to register for the 10th Annual Wild Wisconsin Winter Web Conference, which is on January 26-27, 2022.

All 14 conference sessions will be captioned and recorded in the event you're unable to attend them live.

There is no cost to register or attend, thanks to donations from all 16 Wisconsin public library systems and the Department of Public Instruction.

Summer Library Program Learning & Fun: Catch the Wave

Get ready for summer by spending the morning with our guests, Bryan Wunar and Rebekah Garrety, on February 22 from 9 AM to about Noon.
  • @ 9am: Bryan Wunar, President & CEO of Discovery World Science and Technology Center in Milwaukee, will share water-related learning opportunities for children & teens you can offer this summer and year-round. You'll get hands-on experience with activities during the webinar, and leave the session with examples you can put into practice now. As a bonus, you'll find out about learning opportunities provided by Discovery World, offered both in-person and as virtual programs.
  • @ 10am: Rebekah Garrety, Librarian-in-Residence & Client Success Manager for all of Wisconsin at Zoobean, will help you get ready for summer with the Beanstack Reading Challenge Software & Mobile App. You'll learn best practices, get tips on building challenges, and discover new features.
