URGENT NEW YORK ACTION FOR TODAY
New York's Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul -- who promised New York would remain a safe haven for abortion -- has nominated Hector LaSalle to be the next chief judge of the New York State Court of Appeals, New York's highest court. In that role, LaSalle would oversee the state's entire judiciary branch.
LaSalle is anti-abortion, anti-union, and anti-due process. This nomination is a slap in the face to anyone who campaigned for Hochul to save her from losing her seat to MAGA Lee Zeldin. The state senate can stop this nomination from moving forward.
Today, you should call (leaving voicemail is okay) AND email (or Resistbot) the following:

Because you'll probably be leaving voicemails and sending emails, it's okay to do this after hours. If you see this email late, follow through anyway.
However, if your state senator is Liz Krueger, the NYC office staff is currently picking up the phone and reporting that they are getting many phone calls, so prioritize her if appropriate.
