Message from Cara Dessert, The Center’s CEO

Not to brag … but you made The Center’s Pride Parade contingent beautiful in all ways this past weekend. Thank you to everyone who marched with us -- your collective presence and voice on Saturday was a true inspiration!
This week, I’d like to invite you to continue share your voice with us. As part of strategic planning for future of Our Center, we are asking all community members and supporters to take part in a community-wide survey to help guide The Center’s planning process. We’d love to hear your ideas, hopes and dreams for the future of The San Diego LGBT Community Center.
You can take the survey today in either English or Spanish, using the links below.
As we focus on the future, The Center is offering a series of trainings to help us deepen our understanding of our vibrant San Diego trans and nonbinary community. On Monday, July 22 from 5:30 to 8pm, The Center’s Community Training Institute will present a panel on “Transgender & Nonbinary Identities” at The Center. We’d love you to be a part of this special evening, as our panelists lead an exploration of the growing diversity of transgender & nonbinary identities, as well as offer participants a chance to increase competency with gender-neutral pronouns. This event is wheelchair accessible. You can RSVP here via Facebook. For more information, you can contact Sarah Merk-Benitez at (619) 692-2077, ext. 214 or
Lastly, I want to remind you to that AIDS Walk & Run San Diego is set for Saturday, September 28 and registration is open at!
