With the top 50 Australian producers responsible for only 2% of the annual grape crush, one would expect this to be the exclusive domain of triple digit priced wines, and not include this humbly priced producer in Clare ...

Admittedly - they don't shy away from selling far higher priced wines. The  KilikanoonAttunga 2008 (WA 96) is available here today at $180 net which is only that price because its secondary market with instructions to clear by its owners.

Over the past 20 years of drinking and selling this winery - its always been the Kilikanoon Covenant that brings all the boys and girls to the yard. It draws off a bejewelled level of historically aged vines in their mother vineyard of Clare. Tempering deep gravitas with freshness and purity of spirit, this wine loves a bit of age in the cellar of up to around another 5 years but is blisteringly good right now. Where a lot of the higher priced labels from Kilikanoon can be assessed as brutes in their early years, Kilikanoon Covenant just smiles and glides to its ver own beat and will not disappoint.

Seldom are we able to allow deeper discounts but in this instance we have been able to offer an even deeper discount of $42 net if you lift six of them in your order today...

The Wines:

Kilikanoon 1865 Attunga Shiraz  2006 (WA 98)

"Thick and rich, it coats the glass with glycerin. It gives up a brooding bouquet of wood smoke, game, truffle, espresso, leather, blueberry, and blackberry leading to a massive, masculine, full-bore Shiraz with dense, spicy fruit, a splendid integration of oak, tannin, and acidity, and a 60-second finish. It merits a decade of cellaring and will reward those with discipline with 25 years of pleasurable drinking from 2016 to 2041."

Kilikanoon Blocks Road Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 (WA 92)

"The 2018 Blocks Road Cabernet Sauvignon offers up hints of sage, bay leaf and cassis, buttressed by hints of vanilla and cedar. It's medium to full-bodied, smooth and silky, with a line of acidity that runs from the front of the palate through the long, mouthwatering finish. Not a big, huge, ripe Cabernet, it's more about focus and harmony—and for the $30 USD SRP, it's a bargain."

Kilikanoon Covenant Shiraz 2017 (JH 95, WA 94)

"...A firm bulwark of coffee grind-mocha tannins prolongs scents of violet, blue to black berry persuasions and crushed rock, long and far across the palate. The tannins define, etch and shape this, keeping it from an OTT persuasion. Just. Very good, if hedonism is your cup of tea...’.

Kilikanoon Killermans Run Cabernet  2019 (WA 90)

"Marked by scents of dried sage and cassis, the 2019 Killerman's Run Cabernet Sauvignon is a medium to full-bodied, velvety-textured wine that should have broad appeal. Ripe and expansive, it delivers concentrated, plush fruit and a long, softly tannic finish." WA

Kilikanoon Killermans Run Shiraz 2019

Richly textured and delivering well beyond expectations, the palate carries forward the flavours of dark cherries and licorice from the nose and combines further with additional layers of chocolate, cedary overtones, finely balanced tannins and tarriness in a long persistent finish.
