Special talk on Mon, Nov 18


Prof. Paschalis Alexandridis from the University of Buffalo will be giving a special talk on Monday, November 18 from 11am to 12:10pm in WB407. The talk is entitled, "Amphiphilic Polymer Structure Confers Function for Formulation Engineering."
 

CEGSA Diwali Lunch on Wed, Nov 20


Join CEGSA on Wednesday, November 20 for its Diwali Lunch! Festivities begin at noon in WB247 (the graduate student lounge). As usual, the cost is $5, $4 if you bring your own reusable plates or container, and $3 if you also bring a food donation.
 

Mandatory WHMIS Refresher on Mon, Dec 2


The WHMIS Refresher Session for ChemE will be held on Monday, December 2 from 12:10-1pm in WB116. This session will provide health and safety updates relevant to all staff and students. Attendance is mandatory for all staff, researchers, and graduate students, except individuals that completed CHE2222 in 2019. If you are unable to attend, there will be an online version of this session available later in December, which will be accompanied by a test.
 

Global Health & AI Challenge open to grad students


The Dalla Lana School of Public Health in partnership with Vector Institute will be hosting the Global Health & AI Challenge on Saturday, March 21, 2020. Students will work in multidisciplinary teams to identify a global health challenge and apply principles of ethical design thinking to prototype solutions using AI and machine learning. Graduate level students from eligible programs have to apply by the end of the day on Sunday, December 8. This year there is room for only 10 teams (4-6 students/team) so don’t wait to register as spots are limited. For more info, click here.
