WORSHIP SUNDAY MAY 23
What do we do when scripture offers a view of the Kingdom of God utlizing violent and judgmental rhetoric? This Sunday we continue our new message series in worship focused on some of the hardest parables in Matthew's gospel with a look at "The Parable of the Wedding Feast."

As usual, our online service premieres on You Tube at 10:45 AM and can be experienced at the same link any time after that. You will also find the link for the current week's online worship service pinned to the top of our page on Facebook.
Greetings friends in Christ,

The wait is finally over.  Our church board met recently and determined that it is finally time to start our return to in-person worship.  Beginning Sunday June 13, we will once again gather for worship in our sanctuary at 10:45 AM.  We’ll also continue to host our weekly online services, and our “Wild Worship” outdoor experiences in Krug Park on the first Sunday of each month throughout the summer-- but otherwise we’ll be in the building every Sunday starting June 13.

As we prepare to return to our building this summer, we’ll share with you some Covid guidelines we plan to put in place to safeguard you and our guests (mask-wearing, social distancing, extra cleaning, etc.).

In the meantime, there is one way you can be a big help: Below you'll find a link to a short online "Looking to Our Future" survey, asking your input on “what’s next” for 1st Christian. It’s vitally important that each of us (or each household) respond as soon as possible as the information you share will help to guide our decisions in the time ahead of us.

As always, it’s my great privilege to continue to serve you and our awesome church. I look forward to the journey that lies ahead of us.
Your friend in Christ, Brian
We invite each individual/household in our congregation to respond to a quick online survey you'll find by clicking on the link below. Responses will help our board and other leaders plan for the future of our ministry together. It will only take a few minutes to share your responses. We encourage you to fill out this online survey by Friday May 28. For those you who have already responded, thank you for your thoughtful feedback.

Each June our church hosts Royal Family Kids Camp, a free one-week camp for local at-risk children, many of whom are in foster care.  This special camp is only possible through the generous outreach giving of our church and the community. There are several ways you can help:

1) Contribute all or a portion of the $350.00 cost for one child to attend camp (send a check to the church or use our online Tithely giving app. Simply choose RFKC from the drop down menu)

2) Purchase items for camp from our online Amazon Wish List

3) Sign up to be a prayer partner for someone on the camp staff, writing them a letter/prayer of support and keeping them in prayer throughout the week of camp. Contact Debbie Sherard (dsherard@gmail.com) to volunteer.
IT'S AMOST TIME FOR CHURCH CAMP!
Our regional children and youth church camps are happening this summer, observing special Covid safety guidelines. A reminder that First Christian offers scholarships to all our children and youth to cover the full cost of one summer camp. For more information on camp descriptions and dates go here. Once you have registered online, contact Kenny in the office so he can arrange for registration payment from the church to the regional office.
Our in-person worship gatherings in Krug Park will continue the first Sunday of each month throughout the spring and summer, or until we return to our building.  All services will be at 10:45 AM.
It's so easy to give online to support our ministries.  Either use the link on our website or simply download the free Tithe.ly app to your phone, tablet or computer. Then select our church by name or zip code (64501), connect your bank or credit account and start giving. Use the drop down menu on our Tithe.ly app to let us know which fund or ministry you are supporting (and consider checking the box labeled "cover fees" to help us cover the processing fees.)
