Book Discussion group @ Big Biscuit 9 AM

We are excited to share that Rev. Ann (Pittman) Zarate will offer the sermon this Sunday as we continue our theme "What Next O God? Tending the New Creation." Join us in-person or online as we consider the healing touch of Jesus and how we are called to extend that healing touch today.

Our in-person worship begins in the sanctuary at 10:45 AM this Sunday.

Our online service will premiere on YouTube, also at 10:45 AM, at the link below (and can be viewed at that link any time after that.)  The online service this Sunday will be led by Nancy Nash, Stefan Mathies, Pastor Brian and Ann Zarate.

Experience our Online Service via YouTube.

Brian will be on vacation and away from the office through July 11. The week of July 12 he'll be in and out of the office as he participates in one of our local Disciple church camps. If you have an emergency pastoral need during this time, please contact Kenny in the church office or Sandy Hamlin, chair of the elders.
As Covid cases increase in our St. Joseph area, it's imperative that we help our friends, families, and co-workers get the information they need in order to get vaccinated and protect themselves and others. Please pass along this update from our local health department to anyone you think it might help.

You are invited to join our "Coffee & Conversation" group on Tuesday mornings for a multi-week exploration of the new book "Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation."  This provocative text explores the political and Christian landscape of our country since the 1950's in an effort to try to understand where we are today.  This gathering happens on Tuesdays beginning at 9 AM in the backroom of Big Biscuit Restaurant in St. Joseph. Grab coffee or some breakfast and be part of the fellowship.
Our food pantry shelves are almost bare and we need your help to keep our Blessing Box full of food for those in need in our neighborhood. Please consider bringing food items with you to worship this Sunday (or dropping them by the church this coming week).  We especially need items that are easy-to-open and that can be consumed without cooking.  This might include peanut butter, breakfast bars, canned meats, canned fruit.  But any and all non-perishable food items are welcome. Individual hygiene items are also welcome.
Are you traveling for vacation or worship this summer? You can still join us for worship even when out-of-town by joining our online worship experience each Sunday at 10:45 AM via YouTube. Take a break from your busy life and share your presence with others in this time of sacred online worship.
It's so easy to give online to support our ministries.  Either use this direct link or simply download the free app to your phone, tablet or computer. Then select our church by name or zip code (64501), connect your bank or credit account and start giving. Use the drop down menu on our app to let us know which fund or ministry you are supporting (and consider checking the box labeled "cover fees" to help us cover the processing fees.)
