Hello Formation Friends,

I hope this email finds you well as I am sure all of you are preparing for Holy Week.

Beginning nearly a year ago, Bishop Skirving and I began to have conversations about what it might look like to offer Confirmation support for young people in congregations around the diocese. This conversation began for many reasons, and has resulted in an opportunity, not a requirement, available for all parishes in our diocese.

What would Diocesan Supported Confirmation look like and offer?
• Online group gatherings & independent study for participants
• Facilitated by Catechists trained in the curriculum in a diocesan wide format
• Additional resources and support for parishes to support the young people in the process, including training for parish-based confirmation mentors
• 10 key ares of focus and built in retreats
• Flexible Confirmation service options (in parish or broader depending on participating congregations)
• Small fee per student

Registration in through parishes and will be open during Eastertide. If your parish is interested in learning more about how this works, I would be glad to arrange a time to meet with you. You can also find the powerpoint shared in the March 9th information session HERE.

I pray that you have a blessed Holy Week and a wonderful Easter.

Peace,

Emily Gowdy Canady, M.Ed
Missioner for Lifelong Christian Formation
