January 2021

Hello 2021 and goodbye 2020! Welcome to another year of opportunities for participation in integrative health programs for you, your family and friends at Massey Cancer Center. If you are not familiar with what integrative health means, let me help you gain some understanding. First, let’s start with conventional care. That’s the care you will receive from your healthcare providers at Massey. It’s traditional healthcare, such as surgery, medicine (chemotherapy, immunotherapy, etc.), and radiation treatments. Traditional healthcare is considered mainstream medicine. There are several types of non-mainstream approaches to healthcare, one of which is integrative health.

Massey does not endorse all integrative health practices. We only recommend those that are known to be safe and have the potential to improve health when used alongside, and never in place of, professional medical care. All cancer patients are advised to consult with their physician before starting any integrative health practice, as some may interfere with medical care. Please call (804) 828-8478 for more information about our Integrative Health program.
