Earth Month 2023
Westford Climate Action is hosting our second annual Earth Month in April 2023. There will be events throughout the month at the J.V. Fletcher Library and a family-friendly Earth Day Festival on the Westford Town Common on Saturday, April 22, from 2 to 5 pm. Rain date is April 23. Music will be provided by Oh Contraire, Momentum Rocks, Estella Cui, and Malvike Bhardwaj. For more information about Earth Month activities, visit our website. 

Earth Day Festival
At the Festival, the Animal Craze Traveling Zoo will once again allow children to feed, brush and hold a lamb, baby goat, piglet, chicks, ducklings, and baby bunnies. Children will also be able to make Earth Day posters. Experts on alternative energy, sustainability, recycling, solar energy, and Mass Save rebates will be there to answer questions. The Westford Museum will be displaying Native American artifacts from its collection. There will be a 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric vehicle on display.
Weekly Nature Walks and Hikes
Every Saturday in April, the Westford Conservation Trust is leading a nature walk in Westford from 9 -10:30 am rain or shine.
  • April 1: Stone Arch Bridge 
  • April 8: Sassafras Trail
  • April 15: Burns Hill 
  • April 22: Beaver Brook
  • April 29: The Peace Trail (off Boston Road).

Webinar - Gardening for Wildlife in an Era of Climate Change - April 10
Everyone is invited to our webinar Gardening for Wildlife in an Era of Climate Change co-sponsored by Westford Conservation Trust, on Monday, April 10, at 7 pm. The presentation is by Design and Education Manager Trevor Smith of Weston Nurseries.  Register here in advance for this webinar.
Stargazing Party - April 23
Join Westford Climate Action’s Stargazing Party on Sunday, April 23, from 7:30 - 9 pm at the Stony Brook School, 9 Farmer Way, Westford, for an evening of stargazing! Members of the Amateur Telescope Makers of Boston will bring their telescopes. Free and open to all. We will need clear skies, so check our website for updates. MIT Haystack Observatory Festival Activities
Westford Climate Action will once again partner with MIT Haystack Observatory during Earth Month. Haystack staff will make an evening presentation at the J.V. Fletcher Library. Stay tuned for more details here. There will also be scientists from Haystack at a table on the Town Common at the Earth Day Festival on April 22.
Children's Activities at the J.V. Fletcher Library
Children’s activities at the J. V. Fletcher Library in April include:
  • Upcycle Book Crafts on Tuesday, April 18, from 3:30 to 5:00 pm. Register 
  •  Alpaca Therapy on Thursday, April 20, at 2 pm. Register
  • The Library’s own Earth Day Celebration on Thursday, April 20, at 11 am. No registration required. More info here.
