DECEMBER 2019
Celebrate the season at the Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center with two special performances -- jazz-inspired holiday music for strings and a heartwarming rendition of a beloved Christmas story.  Music and merriment for the whole family!

TURTLE ISLAND QUARTET:  "WINTER'S EVE"

SATURDAY, DEC 14, 2:00pm

This Saturday afternoon!  Hear Grammy winners Turtle Island Quartet in a special concert of holiday music from around the globe. “Winter’s Eve” evokes frosty winter evenings and festive celebrations near and far in a journey through Bach, Vivaldi, Miles Davis, ancient Celtic tunes, Hanuka songs, and world folk melodies.

Turtle Island Quartet is known for improvised stylings inspired by jazz and by string-ensemble traditions going back to Haydn and Mozart. If you love holiday music and welcome a change from traditional carols and commercial standards, Turtle Island’s jazz-inspired repertoire will bring fresh joy to the holiday season!

Stay after the concert for an informal “talk-back,” where you can ask questions and hear about the performers.
