This workshop looks at the role of music, as well as the other sacred arts, in
forming our Christian beliefs. How do the liturgical arts impart that deep felt
knowledge of head and heart and faith, the knowledge that nurtures whole
human persons and inspires a knowing from the inside out?

Rev. Michael S. Driscoll, Ph.D., S.T.D.
Professor Emeritus, Theology
Michael Driscoll is a priest of the Diocese of Helena in Montana. He is an emeritus
member of the theology department and the founding director of the Graduate
Program in Sacred Music. His scholarly interests are in the area of liturgy and
sacramental theology, coauthoring a book with Michael Joncas entitled, The Order
of Mass: A Roman Missal Study Edition and Workbook. He served as president of
the North American Academy of Liturgy (2002-03), executive officer of the Catholic
Academy of Liturgy (2011-13), and a member of the executive council of the
international ecumenical association, Societas Liturgica (2002--08).
