CDC Health Alert Network sends notice of the urgent need to increase COVID-19 vaccination coverage
On July 27, the CDC Health Alert Network (HAN) issued an advisory
to notify public health practitioners and clinicians about the urgent need to increase COVID-19 vaccination coverage across the United States, particularly in regions where current coverage is low. Increased coverage will help to prevent surges in new infections that could increase COVID-19 related morbidity and mortality, overwhelm healthcare capacity, and widen existing COVID-19-related health disparities. In addition to vaccination, in areas with substantial and high transmission, CDC recommends that fully vaccinated individuals wear a mask in public indoor settings to help prevent the spread of Delta and protect others.

National Immunization Awareness Month
August is National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM). Join CDC and other partners in educating and bringing awareness to the importance of getting caught up on healthcare appointments and routine vaccinations. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, some families and individuals missed their routine checkups and vaccinations. With children going back to school and adults going back to the workplace, it is now more important than ever for everyone to get back on track with routine vaccinations.
Resources are available to help you encourage routinely recommended vaccines for a variety of audiences.
In addition, for those who are eligible, resources to aid conversations and inform individuals about the importance of COVID-19 vaccination are available.
