Coalition Activities

2020 Adult Immunization Champion Award Winner

Each year, the Massachusetts Adult Immunization Conference planning committee selects the Adult Immunization Champion Award winner based on a nomination and review process.  The review committee looks for nominees who have shown leadership, innovation, collaboration, advocacy, and initiative in adult immunization.  We are pleased to announce this year’s awardee, Jessica Prince, MSN, RN.  Ms. Prince is the Chief Nursing Officer of the Greater New Bedford Community Health Center.  To read more about Ms. Prince, please visit the MAIC website's 2020 MAIC champion awardee page.

Congratulations Jessica!

25th Annual Massachusetts Adult Immunization Conference

The 25th Annual Massachusetts Adult Immunization Conference was held virtually on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.  One hundred fifty-three attendees joined us for the all-day event.  Plenary speakers included Dr. Carolyn Bridges of the Immunization Action Coalition, Dr. Alfred DeMaria, Jr., of MDPH, and Dr. Mark Freedman of the CDC.  Breakout session topics included the Immunization 101, the Massachusetts Immunization Information System (MIIS), Vaccine Storage and Handling, the Epidemiology of Vaccine Preventable Diseases, and Vaccinating High Risk Adults.  While we feel the event was a huge success, we definitely look forward to having our 2021 event in person.  All conference materials, including presentations, can be found on the MAIC events page.

Upcoming June 2020 Coalition Meeting

Join us for our next coalition meeting on Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 1:30 - 3:30pm.  This event will be held virtually.  To view a tentative agenda or register for the event, visit the events page of the MAIC website.  Topics will include the MIIS and COVID - 19.  If you have a question you would like to be considered for either of the Q&A sessions at this event, or if you would like to propose an agenda item for this or future coalition meeting, please contact Amy Sgueglia.  Topics and the order they will be presented are subject to change based on presenter availability.
