Replays: Tilray: Simon vs. Brochstein
-USHR Hemp Year & USCC's Hawkins-
Above:  TILRAY'S January 10th release of second quarter (ending Nov 31, 2021) has brought a lively debate from industry watchers.  Top- Tilray CEO Irwin Simon reported a profit of $6.8Mil on total revenues of $80.6Mil on  comparable quarter on year-over-year results. Wuith the renaming of the Aphria/Tirlay combo as "TILRAY BRANDS" Simon told CNBC's Closing Bell that his company is not a sequential story.    "It's not just about quarter to quarter" but the total building of a combined consumer packing company.  In 2021, Tilray expanded beyond MJ and hemp (Manitoba Harvest) with the acquisitions of Sweetwater Brewery(Atlanta), Breckenridge Brewery(Colorado) and California craft beers,  Alpine and Green Flash.  Simon is bullish on Tilray MJ growth for European markets, but commenting on potential U.S. legalization,  "you can't build a company on speculation for regulation."    See his interview on CNBC's Closing Bell at: https://www.cnbc.com/video/2022/01/10/tilray-brands-ceo-says-the-business-will-continue-to-be-profitable.html
However, New Cannabis Ventures founder and leading MJ Analyst Alan Brochstein pushed back on how TILRAY's financials are reported, in this 9-min analysis.  In particular, Brochstein says the 2Q results are "very misleading" citing a serious reduction in MJ sales in Canada with a 30% decline for TILRAY, and noting even as the company becomes less-and-less of a cannabis firm,  "the only growth were through acquisitions," said Brochstein, alse enumerating how it still is nice to see Tilray shares up, given the overall beaten-up cannabis stock sector.  Brochstein Jan. 10 commentary at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zf2BhSam2bU

The 19-min. video(above) reviews the ups and downs of 2021, noting the California passage of AB-45 which will make CBD legal as a dietary supplement in the nation's biggest state.  Hosted by the U.S. Hemp Roundtable, focus is now on  prioritizing passage of HB-841, directing FDA to address CBD in food/drinks & pet access.
