Welcome, September!
While we are sad to see the end of summer, we are very excited to share our fall programs with you!

Our super chill, totally awesome Family Book Club has chosen Roald Dahl's The Witches to read. Our Photo Club for ages 5 - 18 has the theme of Nature for the September challenge. The year-long Subject Matters theme of the month is Opera! Follow our new CPL Subject Matters Facebook page for more information and challenges (prizes!!). Link

We still have temporarily limited hours, and we still have safety measures in place.
  • Please practice social distancing.
  • Sign in as you enter for contact tracing.
  • Wear a mask if you are at the computers.
  • Sanitize your hands when you come in.
  • Returned materials need to be quarantined. They will stay on your card for 5 more days, but there will not be any fines.
And don't forget that curbside pickup is still available! Give us a call at 780-672-4214 and we will bring your materials to the back entry while you stay in your vehicle.

SUBJECT MATTERS:  A YEAR OF WEIRD AND WONDERFUL LEARNING FOR EVERYONE

Come along as we delve into a year of weird and wonderful learning! One topic, every month. You choose what and how you want to learn about it... we will provide the resources. Our topic for September is OPERA!

Hansel and Gretel is a popular first opera for children. We have shadow puppet kits to pick up at the library - create your own story at home!  Check out our YouTube channel to watch the Hansel and Gretel opera done by  Regina Opera or Colorado State University. Link.

Visit the library and you can pick up an opera guide full of interesting facts and great resources. Movies, TED Talks, podcasts, websites - we will point you in the right direction. The opera guide will be printed off at the library or you can download it from our blog.  Link.

We hope you had a chance to meet our summer students while they were out and about these past few months! They were set with the impossible task of making our Summer Reading Program COVID-19-safe and they worked incredibly hard to make it work with outdoor and online programs.
Thank you all - we miss you already!
We have new books arriving every week! Click on the book cover to go to the catalogue and request it.
