Sept 13 Meeting Recap
Broomfield Art Guild is now up to 74 members and 32 members attended our September meeting. That is a record!
We announced that Broomfield Art Guild received an anonymous donation of $500 through Broomfield Council on Arts and Humanities (BCAH). We plan to use this donation next year to support our educational activities, in particular visiting artist demonstrations and art meetups/workshops.
Our September demo/discussion was Show and Sell. Sally Bullers presented tips and tricks for matting, framing, and wiring art for shows and exhibits. Jill Riggin showed examples and handed out information for packaging table art to sell at the Affordable Art Sale in October. This was a great opportunity to learn more about packaging and selling art!
We finalized entry for our member show, which runs October 1-29 at the College Hill Library in Westminster. 31 members are participating in the show and presenting 65 pieces of art! Javier Flores will be our show judge. Please come see and help spread the word about this great show! Reminder: if you are participating in the show, art drop off is 1-2 pm on Saturday, October 1. Please plan to stay and help with art check-in and hanging if you haven't already signed up to help in some other way.
New members Dave and Jan Heffner have offered to put together a virtual slide show of our art set to original music composed by Dave. Stay tuned for a sample and call for art!
