5th Newsletter

With the first EURAKNOS KIP (Knowledge innovation panel: experts, researchers, farmers, other stakeholders) meeting in Budapest behind us, Consortium partners took time to process the experiences from the event, then continued to work with renewed vigour. We would like to thank the KIP members for taking part and providing lots of useful input during all of our workshops to enable us to progress with the project.
During the Budapest meeting the main agricultural challenges were discussed in relation to the main challenges for future thematic networks. Based on that the experts brainstormed on how an ideal TN would look like.

A second working group meeting will take place in Paris from 11th to 13th December. This event will help to determine the harmonised approach and the best design and format for a High Impact Knowledge Repository (HIKR) to be used in projects such as Thematic Networks (TNs) and other multi-actor projects. We will also establish the best ways to disseminate, communicate and inform end-users through a targeted approach. Moreover, one workshop dedicated to the multi-actor approach will help define the best practices and methods to foster the multi-actor approach for the production of knowledge. The working group will bring together expert stakeholders and TNs from across Europe.

Focus on a thematic network: DISARM

DISARM (Disseminating Innovative Solutions for Antibiotic Resistance Management) started in the beginning of this year.  It is a collaboration between farmers, veterinarians, advisory services, academics and industry with the aim to reduce antibiotic resistance by minimising the need for antibiotic use in livestock farming. Their main focus is on disease prevention and animal health.
The network exchanges innovative approaches between industries and countries to share best practice and promote prudent and responsible antibiotic use across the whole EU livestock sector.

The project has created a community of practice on Facebook to create exchanges and discussions and facilitate their multi-actor approach.
