Hello House Project Community,

What a busy few weeks we have all had, rounded off by a very inspirational CLNM Sharing Success event in October at the Mercure in Manchester. All your stalls were fantastic and it was great to hear and see the amazing work and achievements in your House Projects. It was really great to see House Projects mingling and young people from different House Projects sharing stories. It was clear to see the true sense of community which you all play a huge part in.

Since the last newsletter the community has continued to grow with new cohorts starting and young people graduating and moving into their forever homes. Manchester & Trafford, Stockport & Tameside and Bury, Rochdale & Oldham have all had their launch events too!

Various learning workshops have also occurred with most staff now having met Alex Priver from Thempra who delivered Relationship Based Practice (Social Pedagogy). Feedback from this workshop has been very positive and we will be speaking with Thempra to see how we can develop the Social Pedagogy offer further.

As usually mentioned if you have anything you wish to share or celebrate across the community which you would like to be included in this newsletter then please get in touch.

See you all soon Sam, Kelly, Becky, Rosie and Bernardo.
STAF Evaluation and Webinar
On 6th September, Fife, Midlothian and East Dunbartonshire staff and young people joined NHP at STAF (Scottish Through and Aftercare Forum) in Glasgow to celebrate the findings from their study of House Projects in Scotland. The study looked at the three House Projects and included views from young people, LHP teams and wider corporate parents. Findings focused upon the relationships built within LHP’s, support from the wider system and the role LHP staff play in the success of the House Project. The study concluded by stating that the findings suggest that if the House Project was rolled out across Scotland on a national level the outcomes would be replicated. We are very proud of what the House Projects in Scotland have achieved and are looking forward to joining them to share this with other interested authorities across Scotland at a webinar on 2nd November!
Aspirational Awards

The second window for applications for an Aspirational Award are now open and is due to close on the 3rd November 2022.

Young people who have moved into their own home are eligible to apply. Applications should be something that the young person has always wanted to do, something they have dreamt about. If it's starting a business, then business mentoring is also offered by our friends at Reconomy.

All applications will be considered at a panel meeting in November. Please click on the link below for more details and the application form.

Care Leavers Association (CLA) funded opportunity for Scottish and English Care Leavers to network
The Care Leavers Association in partnership with Scottish Throughcare and Aftercare Forum (STAF) and International Foster Care Organisation are running an event for care leavers. It will bring together care leavers from Scotland and England to discuss policy and practice issues. Care Leavers from both countries will work together to explore the differences and similarities of the leaving care experience.

It is a great opportunity for young people to meet each other and learn about both countries.

The event takes place on Tuesday 29th November in Glasgow. All expenses including train fare and accommodation will be covered. It is expected people will travel up on the Monday and return on the Tuesday after the event.
