Algoma Mariner self-offloading Gypsum

We had a visit from the Algoma Mariner (built in 2011) which is a self-offloading bulk carrier. It brought a load of Newfoundland Gypsum and offloaded into our dry storage bin. This Gypsum will be used by local companies for cement.

Construction of Covered Dry Storage Bin

We are coming to final steps of our covered dry storage bin construction (just a bit more rock, complete the new storm pond and build swales left). Anticipated completion in the summer of 2022. The inaugural test of bin access was June 28th, 2021 with the Algoma Mariner self-offloading Newfoundland Gypsum into the dry storage bin.

Day of the Seafarer

Picton Terminal's vessels joined in the global marine action on June 25th, 2021 - the Day of the Seafarer - to sound our horns as part of a worldwide effort to recognize the critical role marine workers have played during the pandemic and to urge governments to prioritize vaccinations for crews aboard ships.
