Sekota Declaration
MOU signed with Gondar University and Axum University to Design a Training and Demonstration Site

The Seqota Declaration promises to end child under-nutrition in Ethiopia by 2030. Through the Seqota declaration CultivAid is multiplying its interventions to additional parts of the country and supporting the development of local capacity. In collaboration with Gondar and Aksum Universities, CultivAid will technically support the establishment of the two sites and their implementation in order to train thousands of youngsters to take on the role of modernizing the agricultural sector.

CultivAid is proud to announce the signing of an MOU with Gondar University and Axum University together with the Seqota Declaration Program Delivery Unit. The program aims to develop a 2-hectare model training, demonstration and research sites in order to develop the local capacity for agricultural and water interventions throughout the 32 Seqota Declaration woredas. The program will also include a training program that will be recommended for the agricultural curriculum. The establishment of the program is seen as a critical first step towards scaling up our activities to the Amhara region and scale up in the Tigray region.

Students at Kallamino Special High School engage in Agriculture

A new program was started this year together with the Tigray Development Association at Kallamino Special High School. Students from the school have been assigned a plot and are arriving at the farm to undertake practical experience in modern agriculture. The program is being led by Haylush Alem, a graduate of CultivAid's Internship program and of Wukro polytech College. Halyush now leads the program under Kallamino special high school and is introducing these gifted students to the Science of Agriculture.
This is an amazing program that organically develop as part of our collaboration with the Tigray Development Association

   AIPAC Policy Conference

This year our executive director, Tomer Malchi took part in AIPAC’s policy conference. The AIPAC Policy Conference is the largest gathering of America's pro-Israel community. At CultivAid we think that being pro-Israel should including promoting a greater role of Israel in International development. We understand the potential of Israel to support the development of other countries and in particularly support the local capacity building in agriculture and water knowledge.

During the 3-day event, we had the chance to meet with various leaders of the American – Jewish community, get to know a wide variety of organization, meet with Congressmen and their staff and with all these people we had the chance to discuss our activities in Ethiopia. Our trip to the US congress was led by David Goldberg and Suzi Coleman who are supporting the establishment of a project with the Beta Israel of North Shewa where CultivAid is providing technical support and field level evaluation.
