Dear Parents

It looks like winter is just around the corner even though we have had some awesome autumn weather. I am always amazed by God's hand on the four seasons, unlike lots of countries where it can be much colder or hotter for longer.

Here is our latest newsletter, please make note of any upcoming events.

Kent Wilson
Mrs Stein
(Maths Lesson)
Thanks to Mrs Stein for doing a model maths lesson for some of our parents, a great way to see how the curriculum works.
Thanks also to parents for an excellent turnout when Mrs Stein and Mrs Ragg explained how the curriculum was assessed in the Junior School.

Board News
Election for Parent Representatives.
Voting closes on the 7th June at 12 pm.
Please ensure that your vote is placed in the Ballot Box in the school lobby.
New Zealand Post has advised that they can not guarantee that posted votes will have a postmarked date on them, therefore any mail received after 12 pm on Friday 7th June, that does not have a postmark can not be included in the count.

The first meeting of our New Board
Will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday the 18th June in the staff room.
I have designed a survey about bullying for children to fill out over the next couple of weeks. It would be interesting to see if there is anything we need to address.

Strike Day
Thanks to parents for supporting our teachers, who, as we know, do an incredible job.
Tired of the daily grind of meal preparation? A local catering company has launched a new prepared meal delivery service.
FED has been designed to revolutionise meal times with fresh and healthy, chef-prepared meals without the stress of food preparation.

All meals are hand prepared by their Head Chef Beckie Pilley and her team in their Rosedale kitchen. They even have kid’s meals!

You can check them out at
Tuck Shop
We are hoping to open our own tuck shop with healthy products at the start of next term. Pupils will be serving in the tuck shop and all proceeds will be going straight back into the school. Mr Gillanders has been driving this new venture and at present he is dealing with the Auckland Council, so that all boxes health wise / legal wise are ticked.
We will be serving out of our technology room. More details to follow later.

Please do not park over the neighbors driveways or lawns below our entrance.
Last week we had cars parking over the entrance to our Tech block which is the emergency entrance for a fire engine or ambulance.
Praise Reports
Prayer is an integral part of our Christian walk and it is so exciting when we hear of answers to prayer! If you have had an answer to prayer that you would like to share with our community, please send it to the office and we will include it in our newsletter. Lets's encourage each other as we press into God!
Please remember that if your child is late or if you as a parent are taking your child home early, you must sign your child in or out. This is important in case of an emergency.
Louis Zhou of Room 14 is ESOL's first recipient of the Pai Mahi Award for his hard work and diligence.

'Whenever I journey to Spain, I shall come to you.' Romans 15:24 NKJV

The world isn't going to devote itself to making us happy, and only when we accept that can we begin to move forward. Much of the time life doesn't work out the way we plan. Paul wrote, 'Whenever I journey to Spain, I shall come to you' (Romans 15:24 NKJV). But he never got to Spain; instead, he landed in prison. But it was from there he wrote the epistles.

So your disappointment may turn out to be God's appointment! The Bible says, 'In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps' (Proverbs 16:9 NIV). Aren't you glad God's in charge of your life? Let the philosophers argue over why life works as it does; just you focus on how to live it! If you live to be 100, what good is it if resentment and regret keep you from enjoying it? And what good is more time, if you're just wasting the time you've got?

Do you know how an oyster makes a pearl? When a grain of sand gets into its shell and irritates it, the oyster wraps the sand in layers of beauty until a pearl is formed. An unknown poet wrote, 'This tale has a moral, for isn't it grand, what an oyster can do with a morsel of sand? What couldn't I do if I'd only begin, with all of the things that get under my skin?' God is at work in what you're going through today - for your good and his glory. All you need to do is trust him.
