CASCADES is delighted to share a new tool to support the global transition towards sustainable health systems. HealthcareLCA is an open-access, interactive database of healthcare’s environmental impacts. It currently houses over 4,000 environmental impact values for more than 1,400 healthcare products and activities, including equipment, pharmaceuticals, investigations, procedures, services, and overall health systems.
Deadline extended: How are you making primary care more sustainable?
Do you have a success you’d like to share as part of the primary care story campaign? We know it’s a very (very!) busy time so we are extending the submission deadline to January 31, 2023.
Thank you so much to everyone who has already sent theirs in!
Registration is now open for Taking Action on Planetary Health, a digital certificate program running from February 17 - June 23, 2023. Sessions will cover key planetary health concepts and frameworks, opportunities for intervention and ethics, and much more.
Share your feedback on the quality and relevance of the resources, professional development courses, and networking opportunities we are creating. This survey should take approximately 4 minutes to complete.
CASCADES is a multi-year capacity-building initiative to address healthcare’s contribution to the climate crisis led by the Centre for Sustainable Health Systems, in partnership with the Healthy Populations Institute at Dalhousie University, the Planetary Healthcare Lab at the University of British Columbia, and the Canadian Coalition for Green Health Care.
