Ganaraska Forest Closed until September 30th
Earlier this week, the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority announced that the forest and trails will be closed until September 30th, 2022. They have cited the extreme storm damage as being the reason and the forest conditions remain unsafe. There are acres of downed trees, fallen branches still suspended overhead, and trails remain impassable. Unfortunately, the volume of damage has resulted in a lengthy restoration. For more information, you can read the GRCA press release or visit the GRCA website to find their FAQ.
We have sent this email to all upcoming reservations to make you aware of the forest closure. If you were planning on exploring the trails during your stay, whether hiking, on ATVs, dirtbikes, or horseback, you can still enjoy the trails on Sandaraska Park property. View the map of our trails by clicking here.
If you have a reservation and you wish to cancel, please contact us by the end of this weekend to receive a full refund. We will resume our regular cancellation policy on Monday July 25th. You can email us at info@sandaraskapark.ca or give us a call at (705) 277-2000.
We know this news is disappointing, but we and the GRCA appreciate your understanding and support!
