I have always been intrigued by the art of sculpting, especially bronze sculpture. The idea of having a piece of the earth, forged in fire to create a thing of beauty that will last forever, just blows my mind. It was quite journey to get started, but now I am in, hook line and sinker!
I am beyond thrilled to show you the final products!!! I have completed two series of bronze sculptures:
“Why don’t pigs Fly”: a set of three different sculptures based on my lino-cut series with the same title
“Postcards from Paris”: a set of three different sculptures based on my ink sketches in Paris
You can have a look at a short video I made here, and let me know which are your favourites!
"I'm interested in creating a lasting legacy for collectors, because bronze will last for thousands of years. I'm not really selling the art to this particular collector, but it is being passed on for generations."
The best inspiration is Nature! I love spending time outdoors, so it is not surprising that most of my art is influenced by nature. Take for instance the gorgeous colours of moss on this tree bark below: The inspiration for the patina of my "Why don't Pigs Fly" bronze sculpture series.
I hope you fall in love with them as I have. Thank you for sharing this journey with me!
