Welcome to the Streatham & Marlborough Sweep (SMS)
Updated Covid Guidance
As of 17 May, we entered Step 3 of the Government Roadmap out of Lockdown. We have now fully digested the 31 page document (!) produced by the ECB and have had lots of discussions about how we can implement the changes.

Due to the limitations of our pavilion, the following conditions are in place:
  • Please arrive at the club dressed ready to play. If that is not possible, there is now limited access to the changing facilities. Maximum 4 people are allowed in the changing rooms in the pavilion, and maximum 6 in the St Gabriels' changing rooms.
  • Outside continues to be a safer environment than inside, but from this weekend groups of maximum of 6 people can sit at a table in the hall. Access to the lounge and bar is still restricted, but of course drinks can be ordered.
  • Teas continue to be BYO. We have considered a lot of possible options and consulted with skippers, but given the restrictions of our kitchen, the current state of the kitchen (a new leak which brings about all sorts of H&S issues), the impossibilities of serving teas buffet-style, complexities of seating arrangements, etc. we do not see a realistic option to provide the teas in a way that complies with the current guidelines.
Assuming that we will continue to follow the Government's Roadmap, we hope that all restrictions will be lifted from 21 June. When this happens, the changing rooms will be opened as normal again, we will resume with the provision of teas, and we are looking to start the junior BBQs on Friday evenings and Saturday evening food again as well.

So for these last few weeks, please adhere to the general Covid guidelines and the updated rules as mentioned here.

We thank you all for your continued cooperation!

Save on your membership fees - pay now!
At the moment only 35% of returning members have paid their fees - avoid being chased and let's get that number up!

Remember: the early bird discount ends on 31 May after which date you will have to pay full whack. Also from that date we will start with our pay to play policy: those who have paid will get selected before those who haven't yet.

Details can be found here for men's cricket and here for women's cricket. Teamo has a helpful function to offer instalments, if you prefer.

As a reminder...
Returning members - There is an "early bird" reduced rate which is available until the end of May so pay now to save yourself some cash.

New members - We recognise it can be quite a commitment to join a new club. As such, we have a taster "new member" fee of £40 (Men's) or £20 (Women's) which covers your membership for a period of one month and is discounted from the appropriate membership rate if you decide to continue. You are also eligible for the “early bird” rate throughout your first year with the club.

Streatham & Marlborough are committed to providing cricket for all. Non / low income members requiring assistance should contact our membership sec, Sam Keenan, to discuss.
