Welcome to the Streatham & Marlborough Sweep (SMS)
A reminder that we have Saturday evening food at the club till the end of the league season and the M4s march on! Firstly, the donations have been rolling in recently...
Raise Funds for the Club via EasyFundraising

£150 has been raised in the past couple of months by our supporters, particular Andy M! Given we have only a handful of regular supporters, we could raise significant club funds if we had more uptake and remember, raising further funds doesn't cost you a thing - Sign up to easyfundraising & raise FREE donations every time you shop online with over 4,300 retailers including John Lewis, Amazon, Just Eat and many more

The highest value donation items are contract based (mobile phones, insurance, etc) and holiday bookings but every donation matters and will go to improve facilities. Please sign up and remember to use!

(Reposting as there was minimal response to this first time around)

Appeal for trade skills

As you are probably aware, we are in a situation where we have a deteriorating pavilion and a plan to build a new facility. As such, when maintenance issues do arise, we want to minimise the outlay where we can. David Brown (our junior sponsor and Sunday 2s skipper) has been fantastic and has kindly fixed numerous issues over the years but is also very busy.

We were hoping to put out an appeal within the club for a small group of people with trade skills who are happy to be contacted in the event of pavilion maintenance issues, as they arise. Currently, three areas in need of repair - 1) a collapsing floor in the Men's WCs, 2) some roof leaks and 3) front door repair.

If you are willing to help (either on a volunteer or mates rates basis), please let us know.

Senior Roundup

Rain affected most fixtures last weekend to some degree but wasn't sufficient to prevent the Men's 4s extending their run of victories to six with a nervy win against Beddington. They now sit mid-table after a dodgy start but primed to make a late promotion charge. Also flying high are the M6s who comfortably beat Old Roans by nine wickets, Sundar Viswanathan (8.2-0-36-4) and Fraser Knapp (9-3-10-3). The W1s moved up to third in league with a victory over Spencer, Zoe Balfour (47*) and Paige Copsey (6.4-0-24-3). The M1s and M3s succumbed to weather whilst in promising positions (Sahib Singh 66*) whilst the M2s rather dodged a bullet with rain saving them from defending 57.

The M(K)5s lost to Catford & Cyphers and the M(S)5s lost to Merton in games that could have gone either way. Jack Joy with 8-4-16-4 and Dan Forman 8-3-8-3. In the friendlies, the Sunday 1s beat Southwark Park and the Midweek XI lost to SinjunGrammarians (Baqa Haider 50).

And finally, after a good run, the Men's Strikers side were knocked out of the Slam cup by United Afghan in a close one.
Full match reports are available on the Facebook Group (where available)
Getting into the business end of the season and Humphrey Craven has taken a narrow lead from John Ormesher in the Fantasy SMCC Cricket League. Pendergast, Clark and Brook occupy the Champions League places.

Week 13 MVP was Sahib Singh who was 66 not out and firing on all cylinders for the M3s against Beddington when the rain came.
