The Signing of House Bill 479 at the Georgia State Capitol
The Georgia Legislative Black Caucus has been invited by the Governor to participate in the bill signing ceremony of HB 479, Georgia’s Citizens Arrest Reform Bill. The event will be held Monday, May 10th at 2:00 PM in the North Wing of the State Capitol.
We are the first state in the union to repeal the citizen's arrest statute. Our actions led to this victory. Let's celebrate this important moment in Georgia history.

The Georgia Legislative Black Caucus (GLBC) represents 68 members who serve in the Georgia General Assembly. Established in 1975, the GLBC has sought to protect the general welfare of African Americans, other people of color, and disadvantaged citizens of Georgia in matters of health and welfare, education, social and criminal justice, employment, and economic empowerment.
